History of Neways

The Neways story began more than twenty years ago, when the founders worked in the chemical industry and discovered that many personal care manufacturers were purchasing potentially harmful ingredients to include in their products. Neways' founders decided to formulate products that they considered safe and healthy for their friends and family members, and soon Neways became a global phenomenon with thousands of distributors dedicated to this same mission. Today, Neways is a privately held company that is approaching three-quarters of a billion dollars in annual sales, with 1,200 employees and more than a million independent Distributors in 23 nations around the world. With state-of-the-art research, manufacturing, and shipping facilities, the company provides hundreds of safe and effective personal care, health and wellness, and household products. In addition, Neways offers a lucrative network marketing opportunity that allows individuals to supplement their income or build a full-time business with unlimited earning potential.

Timeline

1980s

The Founder's family formulates, manufactures, and sells industrial chemical products, degreasers, lubricants, and commercial cleaning compounds to national hotel chains, hospitals, and supermarkets.

1987-89

Upon scrutinizing the ingredient labels of their shampoo and conditioner, the Founders are shocked to discover that these products contain many of the same harmful compounds found in the industrial products they sell. Outraged, the family creates safe personal care products for their friends and family, starting with 2nd Chance® Shampoo and Conditioner.

1992

With business operations expanding internationally, Neways incorporates and adds nutritional products to its successful line of personal care products.

1994

Neways Russia opens, catapulting growth in Eastern Europe. In New Zealand, the company opens the southern hemisphere's third-largest manufacturing facility. A new hybrid compensation plan attracts Distributors from around the world.

1997

Neways completes a major expansion of its manufacturing and distribution facility in Salem, Utah. A new product called Maximol Solutions® becomes the top seller, spurring growth in the United States and around the world.

1998

Neways Japan opens and rapidly becomes one of the top-ten network marketing companies in that country. Despite a worldwide recession, Neways maintains annual double-digit growth. Neways begins noni research and later becomes the leader in Hawaiian Noni Juice.

2003

Neways Germany opens and stimulates intense growth, contributing to yet another year of record-breaking revenue and profits. The corporate headquarters moves into a beautiful, new 85,000-square-foot building in Springville, Utah. The company breaks ground on a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility west of the new headquarters.

2004

For the first time, Neways holds a convention on a cruise ship off the Pacific coast of California and Mexico. New product offerings and business-building incentives jump-start another record-breaking year of earnings for Neways. The Neways Summer Concert Series attracts concertgoers from all around the Intermountain West.

2005

At its annual convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, Neways launches Junior Max™ (liquid nutritional supplement for kids), Resurrection Bio-Mist™ (intense skin moisturizer), and the NewBrite™ laundry line (environmentally friendly, effective care for clothes). Neways also launched a new corporate web site and with that a global corporate gateway to all of our markets around the world. Each country-specific site will be accessible through the corporate site. Based on early projections, Neways forecasts another year of exceptional growth.

2006

March 8, 2006–Neways Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Eric Larsen as Neways' Chief Executive Officer. He was promoted from the position of Vice President of International Operations and Development. His primary roles at Neways will be driving new global business and developing and implementing a corporate strategy to ensure the company's profitability. His charisma, sense of humor and business sense make him the natural choice to lead Neways.

November 8, 2006-Neways International, a worldwide leader in dietary supplements and personal care products, announced today that it has been acquired by Golden Gate Capital, a San Francisco-based private equity firm. For Neways, founded in 1992, this marks the completion of its multi-year transition from a small founder-owned firm to a world-class multi-national company with top notch management, professional ownership, and sales in 23 countries.

2007

Neways' Durian Fusion, made from durian whole-fruit puree and extract, along with a blend of exotic fruits including papaya, mango, lychee and longan, is the first ever premium liquid supplement made from durian, the King of Fruits. "This fruit-based formula provides you with all the wholesome goodness and taste of durian in a delicious, exotic liquid supplement," says Yoko Little, Senior Category Manager for Health and Wellness. "This product can energize your life."
